Mogotel opens first hotel in Poland

Latvia's largest hotel operator Mogotel continues to expand and has signed an agreement with one of the world's largest hotel franchisors - Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. Mogotel has become the first operator in the Baltics to manage a Wyndham hotel. Under the agreement, the five-star Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town Hotel in Wroclaw, Poland, opened in March, becoming the country's first Wyndham-branded hotel.

“We are pleased to welcome the first international brand Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to the Mogotel-managed hotel portfolio. We see significant potential for working with the largest hotel franchisor. In 2022, we will continue to strengthen our position in the European hospitality business on behalf of Latvia and plan to sign several more agreements that will allow our company and team to grow and promote the name of our country in Europe,” comments Vadims Muhins, the founder of Mogotel.

Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town Hotel is located in the historic centre of Wrocław, close to the city’s most popular sights, the Market Square. The modern multifunctional building has 5 storeys with 205 comfortable rooms and deluxe rooms. At the heart of the building is a panoramic atrium with an impressive glass roof. An important advantage of the hotel is the conference complex, where the existing premises are suitable for any kind of event, including business meetings and exclusive elegant receptions. The hotel has eleven conference rooms of various configurations with a total area of 514 m2 and a banquet area for events of up to 500 people. In addition, the hotel has two restaurants serving international and local cuisine, a spa with a city view, a 24-hour fitness centre and convenient parking.

“Despite the severe suffering of the hospitality industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, tourism in Europe is beginning to recover following active vaccination and the introduction of clear travel rules. According to the STR Global study, in the autumn of 2021, hotel occupancy in Poland reached 80-85% of the 2019 level. The average room price in Poland reached 80-82.5% of the 2019 level.

The hospitality industry in Latvia is recovering more slowly: The data of the Benchmark Alliance show that after the resumption of the travel market in the autumn of 2021, the occupancy rate of Latvian hotels reached 40–55%, but the average room price 65–75% of the level of 2019,” said Jeļena Stirna, Executive Director of Mogotel Hotel Group.
